RSG New Zealand and Trans Ova to continue bringing World-Class IVF Technology to Cattle Producers

trans ova

RSG New Zealand continues to strengthen its strategic affiliation with Trans Ova Genetics, one of the global leaders in advanced reproductive technologies. Through this collaboration, RSG New Zealand successfully established a state-of-the-art in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratory for cattle in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Operating as RSG New Zealand, a Trans Ova affiliate location, the facility delivered strong results during its first full year of operation in 2025. The partnership has enabled producers across New Zealand to access world-class reproductive technologies, accelerating genetic progress while reinforcing RSG’s commitment to innovation and service in the livestock industry.

Building on the success of 2025, RSG New Zealand and Trans Ova Genetics look forward to continuing their collaboration to expand services, support producers, and further advance reproductive technologies throughout the region.

2025 IVP Season Results:

  • TVR–IVP: An average of 3.6 embryos produced per donor
  • Initial pregnancy scanning results (1,000+ cows/heifers):
  • 50–69% pregnancy rates using frozen RSG direct-transfer embryos
  • 65–80% pregnancy rates using fresh RSG embryos

RSG New Zealand recently welcomed Dr. Tad Thompson to the region as part of the company’s continued commitment to strong collaboration between the U.S. and New Zealand teams. Dr. Thompson’s visit highlights the active involvement of RSG’s U.S. leadership in supporting the growth and success of the New Zealand operation.

While in New Zealand, Dr. Thompson is meeting with team members and visiting with clients to discuss reproductive programs, genetic strategies, and the continued expansion of advanced reproductive services in the region. His visit also reinforces the close working relationship between the RSG headquarters in the United States and the RSG New Zealand team.

During the trip, Dr. Thompson will host the annual RSG New Zealand staff kickoff meeting, bringing the team together to celebrate the success of the company’s first full year of operations and to outline priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. The meeting will focus on strengthening client service, expanding reproductive technologies, and building on the momentum created during the company’s first year.

RSG New Zealand is coming off a strong inaugural year, highlighted by the successful launch and growing utilization of the RSG Trans Ova affiliate laboratory, which has provided producers across the country with access to advanced reproductive technologies that have produced high success rates.

Dr. Thompson’s visit reflects RSG’s commitment to maintaining a unified global team and continuing to invest in the people, partnerships, and technologies that are driving genetic progress for livestock producers throughout New Zealand and beyond.
