Our Bull Semen Centre at Full Speed

Spring has arrived, and with it our RSG Semen Centre is operating at full capacity. Bulls are arriving continuously while others complete their collection programmes and leave our facilities, having achieved their frozen semen production targets for both domestic and international markets.

This week marked the departure of New Zealand’s highest-priced Angus bull, with thousands of frozen semen straws produced in accordance to be exported to five different countries. We are also proud that New Zealand’s two major semen companies have placed their confidence in our team, entrusting us with more than 25 bulls for semen production services this season.

Behind every successful collection programme is a strong commitment to animal care and management. During the past year, we have completed a comprehensive upgrade of our bull accommodation facilities, including all 43 paddocks and 14 bull pens. These improvements ensure our bulls receive what we like to call a true “five-star accommodation”, providing comfort, safety, and welfare throughout their stay.

Nutrition continues to be a key focus within our operation. Every diet is carefully designed and monitored by our nutritionist using detailed feed analysis of all dietary components. Feeding programmes are then tailored according to breed, age, production requirements, and the individual needs of each bull, ensuring optimal health and performance.

As demand for high-quality genetics continues to grow both in New Zealand and overseas, it is rewarding to see our team, facilities, and systems delivering results at the highest level.

Happy Healthy Calves Growing Strong

Our Happy Healthy Calves are continuing to thrive! The RSG dairy heifers we have been following are growing well, achieving great weights and looking right at home out grazing.

Through the Happy Healthy Calves initiative, we’re excited to continue following their progress beyond calving and showcase how these calves develop into healthy, thriving young stock.

Stay tuned as we continue to share updates on their growth and development!

Making Payments Easier with GoCardless

RSG New Zealand is introducing GoCardless, a simple and secure direct debit option designed to make paying your invoices easier and reduce the administration involved in managing payments.

Once your direct debit is set up, payments can be collected automatically when due. You’ll continue to receive communication about upcoming payment collections, helping you stay informed while making the payment process more convenient.

If you currently use another payment method and would like to switch to direct debit, you can set up your GoCardless authority using the link below.

This is another step RSG New Zealand is taking to make working with our team as simple and efficient as possible.

Choosing the Right Recipient

Selecting quality recipients is an important part of preparing for a successful embryo transfer programme. Factors such as overall health, body condition, reproductive history, nutrition and proper management can all play a role in recipient performance.

To help you prepare, the RSG New Zealand team has put together a helpful resource outlining considerations when selecting and managing recipients for embryo transfer.

New Inventory Management Platform Update

RSG New Zealand is continuing preparations for the rollout of our new inventory management platform, designed to make managing semen and embryo inventories stored with RSG easier and more streamlined for our clients.

As we move closer to implementation, clients will receive further communication outlining key dates, what the transition will look like and any steps they may need to complete.

We appreciate your patience as we work through this transition and look forward to providing an improved way to manage your stored genetics. Watch for additional updates from the RSG New Zealand team soon!

ET Season is Underway

ET season is well underway! As implant dates approach, the RSG New Zealand Despatch Team will be reaching out to confirm your embryo preferences and recipient numbers.

Please respond to these requests in a timely manner. Having this information ahead of time allows our team to be well prepared and ensures everything is organised prior to your scheduled implant date.

Thank you for helping us keep the season running smoothly!
